Environmentally Endangered Land Covenant C Miami-Dade County

About This Dataset

This dataset maps all locations in Miami-Dade County where landowners have agreed to preserve natural forestland in exchange for a 90% property tax reduction through the Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) Covenant Program. Since 1979, this program has created temporary protected areas for pine and hammock forests that might otherwise be developed, helping preserve some of Miami-Dade's vanishing natural habitats while giving property owners financial incentives to keep their land undeveloped.
